Great Story of the World
Waves > Robots - Waves starts out in trance land as per usual, but Barber is playing some really pretty licks and managing not to meander too much at the start. This is a really cool dark jam, with some thirst-quenchers from Sammy.
Therapy - Standard.
Story - Story features Mr. Shields from TND on keys. I really love everything that's going on in this Story, and Shields manages to make this really interesting. Barber plays well the whole time and they develop some great themes.
Macina Verde - Cover of a Conspirator track. It is what it is.
One Day You'll Know - There is a really cool 15/8 breakdown in this song that I like a lot. No jam here, but I like the song. I'm not sure why they didn't keep this song. It's very musical and interesting throughout, though some of the lyrics are pretty throwaway. They never played it again.
HAB - 43:32 Hot Air Balloon. Alright, let's do it. The first jam here is phenomenal with lots of experimentation and interesting themes. The second jam is wankery to the MAX. Listen to the first, then stop and skip to the next track. Oh, also, the peak comes out of nowhere. I really like this first jam a lot. Words.
Jam - Meh. Some banter mixed in with the jam and not a whole lot of interesting stuff going on in the jam.
Robots > Waves - I don't hate the first jam. Pretty typical Robots 1st jam, but enjoyable. The 2nd jam doesn't really go anywhere for quite a while and it honestly seems like Brownstein, Barber, and Magner are playing 3 different jams for a while. I was unimpressed. Waves comes out of nowhere. Meh.
Home Again - Really great jam in this Home Again and it gets pretty dark for a while. Brownstein really drives the band here, and Barber plays phenomenally. I've seen people refer to this as one of the greatest Home Agains ever, and while I might not go that far, it's certainly very good.
Jigsaw > Pilin - The 1st jam here is a pretty typical Jigsaw 1st jam. Fast, dark trance. Sounds like the key is diminished and they tinker around with a couple themes that are alright. Nothing incredible, but then again I rarely like Jigsaw 1st jams. There is a lot of really cool dark psychedelia going on in the 2nd jam here. I love it.
Overall, 4 stars. Decent show, but there's a lot of meh. Waves(1), SOTW, HAB(1) Home Again, Jigsaw(2) are all really good, but the rest need not be listened to.

This show was great, with something for everyone. This Hot Air Balloon is almost 45 minutes long, gets totally out there. The ATW->Robots to open the show is sick and the SOTW with Jamie Shields from the New Deal is a great funky version. Robots->ATW to open set 2 and a couple new songs, plus a fake Barber complete with same clothes for Home Again make this show complete. Great to be there. This mini-run was just awesome!
